2004 Stock Hatch Round 7, Brands Hatch

This could be nasty... ...but it wasnt! This looks awfully familiar! Mark Alden leading the restart
Boon, Wright, Taylor and Shepherd fight it out ...but further back its all action too Darren Wilson takes a beach holiday
Poor old John Munday still seems to be in a bit of a drought when it comes to luck as he retired on the warm up lap to heat one. For the rest of the runners it was looking like coming to a sticky end by the first corner with 2 cars backing across the track at Paddock Hill Bend, but incredibly both cars ended up facing the right way with no serious contact and despite some rather innovative lines by the following pack, everyone seemed to keep going. As the rest settled it became a close fought battle between Morgan and Laughton for the win, with Laughton retaking the lead he had held for most of the race when it mattered most.

Heat 2 got off to a much more controlled start, but was red flagged half way through. At the restart it was Mark Alden who got away with the lead by the first corner, but he was unable to keep it and dropped back several places whilst Tony Taylor took the lead and the win.

The final looked to be getting away cleanly through the lense of my camera but that shows only half the story as a couple of cars spun out, but not until part way up the hill to Druids. Up the front it had been Boon and Wright that had got away neck and neck with Paul Taylor glued to their back door. After another red flag there was a quick sprint and the front runners of Boon, Wright, Taylor and Shepherd gave an entertaining scrap as they fought tooth and nail for the win.
