The Peugeot Gti Autosport Club French Car Show

PGAC Stand cars on display

Another early start, but this time not a race meeting - The annual PGAC French Car Show at Stanford Hall. The PGAC sponsor Gordon Macmillan's Stock Hatch 205 Gti, so his car was on display in the main marquee, causing significant interest in those who fancied the idea of starting racing. Alongside his car was the Peugeot WRC Rally simulator - a rather fancy looking games console. As you might expect, it seemed to be the children who were able to put the adults to shame. At the other end of the marquee was an F1 simulator that was also popular. Outside the marquee the Peugeot 206 180 (180bhp) due for UK launch in August was on display, alongside a WRC rally show car, and several other new Peugeots.

Further afield, there were a number of trade stands, selling anything from car cleaning products to spoilers and spares, to magazines and performance car parts. A mobile rolling road was doing power runs for anyone who thought their car was man enough, and of course there were literally hundreds of display cars, all polished and glinting in the sun (in between the showers). Plenty of In Car Entertainment demonstrations ensured that the ground was literally throbbing for most of the day, and there were also those who were keen to show much flame they could eject from their exhaust pipe.

There were even helicopter rides around the showground for anyone interested in seeing it all at once. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day out!
